World Cup 2026: Solomon Agbasi and Paul Reverson dropped from final squad

· GhanaSoccernet

Goalkeepers Solomon Agbasi and Paul Reverson were the only players dropped from Ghana's squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The two shot-stoppers were part of an initial 28-man squad named for camping in Wales, and trained with the team for the past week.

However, with only three goalkeepers expected to travel to North America, Carlos Queiroz preferred Agbasi's Hearts of Oak teammate Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Ireland-based Joseph Anang.

Meanwhile, defender Derrick Luckassen earned a late invite following injury to defender Alexander Djiku.

The Cyprus-based centre-back reported to camp on Monday and will join the team for the international friendly against Wales on Tuesday, June 2.

The Black Stars are expected to face Jamaica in their final preparatory match before the tournament commences on June 11 in North America.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside 1966 winners England, 2018 runners-up Croatia and Central Americans Panama.
