Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, says the Black Stars have settled into camp with strong focus and unity as preparations continue ahead of their World Cup campaign in the United States.

Speaking from the team’s training base, Asante Twum described the atmosphere within the squad as positive, stressing that both players and technical staff remain fully committed to the task ahead.

“We are happy in camp, we are a focused group, we are a determined group, and we want to make a name in this tournament,” he told Nhyira FM.

He explained that the decision for the team to arrive early in the United States was deliberate, allowing players to adapt to the weather conditions and environment before the start of the tournament.

According to him, training sessions have been intense and productive.

“We wanted to come to the USA early, get used to the weather and adjust quickly. The training sessions have been very intense and productive. It’s been very good, and we hope it continues throughout the tournament,” he added.

Asante Twum also noted that competition for places in the squad remains wide open, with no guaranteed starters at this stage.

“There is no starting eleven in the team now. Every player is working hard and fighting for a place,” he noted.

He further offered an update on head coach Carlos Queiroz, saying the experienced tactician remains composed and focused on building strong bonds within the squad.

“Carlos Queiroz is fine and not too worried. He wants to spend more time with the players, understand their thinking and make them believe that on this mission, anything is possible.”

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field, before facing England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium, and wrapping up the group stage against Croatia on June 27.

Under Queiroz, Ghana will be targeting a return to the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.
