Ghana ready for World Cup 2026 challenge after strong preparations - Lawrence Ati-Zigi
· GhanaSoccernetGhana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has described the Black Stars' preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as a great experience.
Ghana have been drawn in a difficult Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia, and will be aiming to reach the knockout stage for the first time since their quarterfinal run in 2010.
The Black Stars began their preparations with a training camp in Cardiff, where they concluded with a friendly against Wales before Carlos Queiroz named his final 26-man squad, with Ati-Zigi included.
The team has since spent the past week in Washington and will later move to its official tournament base at Bryant University Stadium in Boston.
"It's been a great experience. You can see all the guys are very ready, and we've trained very well. We've given our best, and we're looking forward to this moment," Ati-Zigi told GFA Media.
Ghana open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto before facing England on June 23 in Boston. They conclude their Group L fixtures against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
