"It's a big achievement"- Otto Addo on being the first coach to qualify the Black Stars to two World Cups
· GhanaSoccernetBlack Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed delight after leading the Ghana to another World Cup.
The German-trained tactician made history by becoming the first coach to qualify the Black Stars to back-to-back World Cups after Ghana finish top of Group I with 25 points from ten games.
Addo also remains the only Ghanaian to play and coach the Black Stars at the World Cup.
Despite his latest achievement, the former Black Stars player credited the team for his remarkable journey.
"For me, personally, it's a big achievement. But to be honest, I think more about us. So, it's good for us, for everyone. Every Ghanaian, it's good for the players. Not only for me. So, this is the most important thing. It's not a bad time, but also not a good time. It's not about me. It's about us. And it's about the team. I'm happy for the players. And some players haven't been there. And it's a good opportunity. And so, I'm very, very happy for everyone," he said during the post-match presser of the victory over Comoros.
The Black Stars have now qualified for the World Cup five times and will find out their group stage opponent in a World Cup draw on December 5, 2025 in Washington, DC.
