Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has revealed that he wants to enjoy himself at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The experienced forward is set to become a free agent at the end of June when his contract with Leicester City expires.

Currently in camp with the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ayew says his immediate focus remains firmly on Ghana's campaign at football's biggest tournament.

He believes it is important to enjoy himself at what could be his last World Cup rather than overly focus on his next club.

“When the time comes, I'll make the decision with my family and representatives [on my future club]. There's no rush. I just want to enjoy myself at the World Cup,” Ayew said, in a pre-match interview ahead of Ghana’s friendly against Wales on Tuesday, June 2.

Jordan Ayew, 34, is one of the senior players in the Black Stars and will be playing a key role for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

At the tournament, Ghana are in Group L alongside Panama, Croatia, and England.
