Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz says Ghana's focus is firmly on producing a strong performance and securing victory when they face Wales in an international friendly on Tuesday.

The match at the Cardiff City Stadium will be Ghana's final outing before the 2026 FIFA World Cup and provides Queiroz with one last opportunity to assess his squad ahead of the tournament in North America.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, the Portuguese coach stressed his desire to see the Black Stars play quality football while delivering a result that will give supporters confidence before the World Cup.

"The message is simple, we want to play great football [against Wales], we want to play to win and bring joy to our fans," Queiroz said.

Ghana enter the match looking to build momentum after a difficult run in friendly matches and with the squad undergoing adjustments following injuries to key players, including defender Alexander Djiku.

Despite the challenges, Queiroz insists his team will approach the contest with a winning mentality.

"We will try and be the best team on the pitch [against Wales]," he added.

The fixture marks the first-ever meeting between Ghana and Wales and comes just over two weeks before the Black Stars open their World Cup campaign.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. The Black Stars will begin their tournament against Panama in Toronto on June 17 before facing England and Croatia in their remaining group-stage matches.

A positive result against Wales would provide a timely boost for Queiroz and his players as they prepare for the biggest tournament in world football.
