NSA explains plans to gain more in gate proceeds ahead of Ghana vs. Comoros clash
· GhanaSoccernetThe National Sports Authority has revealed plans to increase gate revenue for Ghana's final World Cup qualifier against Comoros by maximising stadium capacity at the Accra Sports Stadium.
NSA Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah announced that Sunday's match will accommodate 35,000 fans, significantly more than the 26,000 capacity during September's qualifier against Mali when sections were closed for maintenance.
The Authority disclosed that the Mali game generated approximately 1.46 million Ghana Cedis in gate proceeds, with 80% allocated to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and 20% to the NSA after deductions for operational costs.
With Ghana needing just a point to secure World Cup qualification following their 5-0 victory over Central African Republic, the NSA anticipates higher turnout and revenue for the decisive Comoros clash as more fans are expected to attend the potentially historic qualification match.
