Assistant coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, Ernest Okyere, praised the performance of his players on Sunday, despite their defeat to Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.

In the Week 31 fixture played at the TnA Stadium, a brace from Salim Adams handed the Yellow and Mauves all three points to improve their chances of clinching the league title at the end of the season.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Gold Stars assistant coach Ernest Okyere accepted the result, insisting that his team can be proud of their performance.

“Football is 90 minutes game, and whatever comes out of it you need to accept and learn from it. Nothing went badly. My players proved we have revamped the team, and that impressed me a lot,” the coach said.

With four games to end the season, Okyere is confident Gold Stars can pick up enough points to beat Medeama SC to the league title.

“The league is not over. We have four matches to go. They are five points ahead of us. There are 12 points in the four remaining matches. It means it’s not over until it's over. We need to go back, and on Wednesday, we need to make amends and close the gap,” he said.

In the next round of games, Gold Stars will face FC Samartex at Duns Park.
