He also used to the opportunity to congratulate the players while also acknowledging coach Otto Addo, whom he watched during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
"I want to tell all of you that you are ready, and Korea has so much respect for you because when they talk about the football powerhouse of Africa, Ghana always comes on top, and you are here representing Ghana, and the question I ask is, do you think you are small? No, you are not," he said during his inspiring speech to the team.
"I understand we face a very nice defeat in Japan, and the coach is trying some experiments here and there, and I also understand some of our big boys are not here. I believe this gives us a better opportunity. This is actually an opportunity to take that shot that you believe is for the big boys.
"'Tsoboi'... tomorrow is the day."
The Black Stars, who are already missing several of their key players, will also have to do without Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Salisu of AS Monaco, who left camp after the Japan game.
