Didier Drogba has delivered a powerful message following the Confederation of African Football's controversial decision to strip Senegal of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, warning that the integrity of the sport hangs in the balance.

In a statement that has resonated across the continent, Drogba emphasized that the ruling represents more than just a dispute over silverware.

"We must not allow ambiguity and politics to steal the joy of victory from our people," he declared.

The former Chelsea striker reminded the football world that millions witnessed Senegal's triumph on the pitch in January, only to see it erased months later by a committee decision.

"We all watched Senegal fight bravely and defeat Morocco in a historic final. But now, months later, a decision made in a boardroom has changed that story. The CAF Appeals Committee has overturned the result… and suddenly, a victory won on the pitch has been stolen."
