South Korea were more clinical than Black Stars – Otto Addo
· GhanaSoccernetSouth Korea’s superior finishing proved decisive, according to Otto Addo, after Ghana fell 1-0 in Tuesday’s international friendly in Seoul.
The Black Stars boss admitted his side created enough chances but failed to convert, which ultimately shaped the outcome.
The Ghanaian side showed a stronger display than in last week’s defeat to Japan, offering improved ball circulation and attacking intent.
Addo noted his team’s progress but conceded the Koreans made better use of key moments.
"I think it was a good game from both sides. In the end, they were more clinical with the chances they had.
"I think we had good ball possession but also a lot of chances we created which we couldn't use. I think the game was kind of even. It was good to watch."
South Korea began to assert control after the break and eventually capitalised on their momentum.
Lee Tae-Seok headed home at the far post in the 63rd minute, finishing a precise cross from Lee Kang-In.
Ghana faced more pressure when South Korea earned a penalty, yet Benjamin Asare denied Hwang Hee-Chan to keep the margin narrow.
The Black Stars found the net twice afterward through Kwabena Adu and Jonas Adjei Adjetey, but both goals were disallowed for offside.
Despite late attacking pressure, Ghana could not break through.
The defeat marks back-to-back losses on the Asian tour, following Friday’s 2-0 setback against Japan.
