Black Stars market Ghana better than any other tool, says Sports Minister Kofi Adams

Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, believes the Black Stars remain one of the country’s biggest international brands and a major tool for promoting Ghana across the world.

Speaking on SoccerChat, the minister said the national team provides the country with global visibility that few other platforms can match, especially during major tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup.

“The Black Stars is one of our biggest brands, and it markets the country so much and sometimes so effectively than any other tool can ever do,” Kofi Adams said.

The minister specifically pointed to Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup group-stage match against England as an example of the team’s global reach.

“Take our second World Cup game against England, for instance. It’s going to be watched by billions of people,” he stated.

“For the 90 minutes that the game will be played, Ghana will be marketed for free. Ask yourself how much we would’ve paid for those eyeballs from billions of people.”

Ghana will open their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama at BMO Field in Toronto on June 17 before facing England in their second Group D match at Boston Stadium on June 23.

The Black Stars will then conclude the group stage with a clash against Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 27.
