We will treat Wales clash as a match to win - Carlos Queiroz

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has made it clear that Ghana will approach their international friendly against Wales with the mindset of winning rather than simply preparing for future matches.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday's encounter at the Cardiff City Stadium, Queiroz stressed that every time the national team steps onto the pitch, the objective remains the same to give their all and fight for victory.

"You know, this game is so difficult. If you start to have complementary ideas, 150 years of celebrations, the game becomes even more difficult. So, for me, it is simple: tomorrow we start the game with one team against another, with 11 players on the pitch, trying to do the best and try to win," he said.

The experienced coach added that Ghana's players do not distinguish between friendly matches and competitive fixtures.

The Black Stars will take on Wales in an international friendly at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, as they continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
