World Cup 2026: Athletic Club congratulate Inaki Williams on Ghana call-up

La Liga side Athletic Club have congratulated their forward IÃ±aki Williams after he was named in Ghana's final 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Spanish club took to social media to confirm his selection, highlighting that Williams joins teammates Unai SimÃ³n, Aymeric Laporte, and his brother Nico Williams on Athletic Club's list of players heading to the World Cup.

Williams, who switched his international allegiance to Ghana in 2022, will be making his second World Cup appearance after featuring in Qatar in 2022. He will be hoping to help the Black Stars progress beyond the group stage this time around.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia and open their campaign against Panama on June 17. For Athletic Club, having four players at the World Cup is a source of pride. For Williams, the focus is now on making Ghana proud.
