Jeremy Doku has expressed frustration after Manchester City dropped crucial points in a 3-3 draw with Everton, a result that weakens their grip on the Premier League title race.

City appeared on course for victory after a strong start, with Doku opening the scoring early. However, defensive lapses and missed chances allowed Everton to stay in the contest, turning the game into an end-to-end battle.

The Belgian international of Ghanaian descent eventually struck again in the 97th minute to rescue a point, but it did little to hide City’s wastefulness in front of goal.

The draw leaves City five points behind leaders Arsenal, who still have three matches remaining.

While Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand, the margin for error has narrowed significantly as the season nears its conclusion.

Reflecting on the performance, Doku pointed to missed opportunities as the decisive factor.

“First half we played well and created a lot of chances. We know if we don’t score those chances it is going to get difficult at the end”.

“Obviously, they are at their own stadium, they create chances, and they are dangerous, and they scored two goals, but I think we gave them the game.”

Despite the setback, he acknowledged the importance of the late equaliser.

“Good that we came back because one point is not bad in games like this.”

City face Brentford next, needing a response to keep their title hopes alive.
