Ernest Nuamah thanks fans for support during recovery from ACL injury

The Olympique Lyonnais winger has been named in Ghana’s provisional 28-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup preparations in Cardiff, marking his first return to the national team setup after more than a year out due to an ACL injury.
Nuamah, who completed rehabilitation with Lyon and proved his fitness at club level, has already joined training at Dragon Park since May 25, 2026, as head coach Carlos Queiroz evaluates his squad ahead of the final 26-man selection.
Ghana are preparing for a friendly against Wales on June 2 at the Cardiff City Stadium before heading into the World Cup in North America.
Reflecting on his journey back, the winger acknowledged the emotional and physical challenges he endured during his rehabilitation period.
"I just want to thank Ghanaians you know for your support for your prayers. I've been out for a while. I mean, it's all your prayers. I'm here today... I just want to say thank you to everyone for your support and for your prayers. You know, it hasn't been easy for me getting an injury."
