Bechem United forward Godfred Yawson has expressed his delight after finally returning to the scoresheet in his side’s defeat to Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League.

The striker had endured a difficult run in front of goal, failing to score in ten consecutive matches for the Hunters before Wednesday’s encounter at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

After weeks of frustration and hard work, Yawson found the breakthrough when he scored Bechem United’s equaliser during the Week 30 clash against Dreams FC.

Speaking ahead of Bechem United’s upcoming fixture against Swedru All Blacks, the attacker admitted that the goal has lifted a huge burden off his shoulders and boosted his confidence.

“Scoring against Dreams FC made me very happy. For a striker, if you go ten matches without scoring, it’s not good. So scoring in the last game helped me a lot,” Yawson told Bechem United TV.

Despite Yawson’s strike, Bechem United were unable to avoid defeat as Dreams FC secured a 2-1 victory at the end of the contest.

The Hunters will now turn their attention to Sunday’s league meeting with Swedru All Blacks, where Yawson and his teammates will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways.
