Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen expressed his immense satisfaction with the team's performance after the Super Eagles secured a vital 2-0 victory over Algeria, booking their place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-finals.

His crucial goal and assist were pivotal in the quarter-final triumph, setting up a blockbuster clash against host nation Morocco.

Osimhen opened the scoring with a commanding header and later turned provider, setting up strike partner Akor Adams for Nigeria's second goal. This dominant all-around performance earned the Napoli forward the Man of the Match award.

Reflecting on the match, Osimhen was full of praise for the team's collective effort and preparation. "We prepared well for this game, and I’m so happy about the team’s performance," Osimhen told CAF. "Playing this type of team, we had to bring our A-game… we gave our everything, and we deserved to win."

Looking ahead to Wednesday's semi-final against a formidable Morocco side, who defeated Cameroon 2-0 in their quarter-final, Osimhen struck a confident tone. While acknowledging the hosts' quality, he dismissed any notion of intimidation. "We are going to play against the hosts and we know how they are, we know they have a lot of quality players," Osimhen stated, "but I don’t think we are the kind of team that is timid."

With Osimhen in peak form and the Super Eagles demonstrating a resilient and effective style, Nigeria heads into the semi-final with momentum and a clear statement of intent as they continue their quest for a fourth continental title.
