"It will facilitate the second leg in Morocco"- Wydad assistant coach Brahim Nakach after CAF CC first leg win over Kotoko
· GhanaSoccernetWydad Athletic Club assistant coach, Brahim Nakach believes their job has been made easier ahead of the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup against Asante Kotoko in Morocco.
The Moroccan giants secured a 1-0 victory in Accra to return home with the advantage ahead of next week's clash. Joseph Bakasu's second half volley from Thembinkosi Lorch's corner kick was enough for the former African champions.
Although Nakach admits it was a tough game against the Ghanaian FA Cup winners, the former Morocco international remains confident of his side's chances.
"The game was very tough. The players did their best to win the match and it will facilitate the second leg in Morocco. But we still have a match there, so the players did what the coach told them and we have just won the first leg," he said.
Asante Kotoko have not lost to the Moroccans at home prior to last night's game.
According to Nakach, Wydad knew of Kotoko's history and were determined for an early advantage.
"Asante Kotoko has it's history in Africa. We knew that it will be very tough. We prepared for so long for this game. That is why we had to concentrate throughout the game which gave us the opportunity to win. We had many opportunities to score more than just a goal but we have a lot of respect for Kotoko," he added.
