Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz has stressed that they will showcase their quality and strength when they take on Panama in their opening game of the 2026 World Cup.

The Black Stars will open their campaign against the Central American side at the BMO Field in Toronto later tonight.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Queiroz spoke highly of his opponents, describing Panama as a very organised and experienced team.

However, the 73-year-old said Ghana have a lot of tools in their kit as well.

"Of course, (Panama) has some weaknesses," Queiroz said. "We need to find them, and I believe we have the solution to their strengths."

"We've got great experience, we've got quality, we've got speed, we've got skill.

"I think we can do well in one-on-one situations. We're strong, and we'll showcase our strengths in the game," he added.

Ghana's Group A clash against Panama has generated considerable anticipation as the four-time African champions seek a winning start to their fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.

Following the Panama encounter, the Black Stars will face England at Gillette Stadium on June 23 before concluding their Group L campaign against Croatia on June 27.

Ghana will be aiming to secure a place in the knockout stages for the first time since their memorable run to the quarter-finals at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
