South Korea friendly will be a good test for our defenders - Ghana coach Otto Addo
· GhanaSoccernetGhana head coach Otto Addo has described the upcoming international friendly match against South Korea as a good test for his side.
The Black Stars, after losing 2-0 to Japan last week, will face off with South Korea on Tuesday in their last game in the November international break.
Speaking in his pre-match interview, Otto Addo acknowledged the quality in the South Korea team, especially in the attack, insisting that it will be a good game for his defenders to show what they are made of.
“It's a good game for our defenders. They will have a strong opponent, and it will be good for us to see how good they are. I know that they can do it,” the Ghana coach said as quoted on ghanafa.org.
Ahead of the friendly, the Black Stars coach is wary of the threat of South Korean legend Son Heung-min.
Otto Addo believes his team can stop the former Tottenham Hotspur star on the matchday.
“He's good on the ball, he shoots left and right. We have to prevent and stop his shots, which are very, very crucial. He has good runs, we have to make good decisions, especially in our defence, when to attack him, but also when to drop in case there's space and he can run into the space.
“We're a little bit lucky that now he's not 24 or 25 anymore. He's also getting older, so I think we have a good chance to stop him,” Otto Addo added.
Tuesday’s friendly match between South Korea and Ghana will kick off at 11 am at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul.
