Ghana forward Andre Ayew has revealed that the guidance of compatriot Matthew Amoah will be crucial to his success at new club NAC Breda.

Ayew, who joined the Dutch Eredivisie side earlier this month, made the comments during a club interview where he appeared alongside Amoah – a former Black Stars striker who now works in a coaching capacity at Breda.

“I think what he has done for this club and what he has done in his career in the national team is great,” Ayew said of his veteran countryman. “For me today to be here with him that he knows inside out, is only beneficial to have a big brother here because he can guide me, make me…adapt very quickly. For me, it’s all beneficial, and I’m very lucky to have him here.”

The partnership brings together two significant figures in modern Ghanaian football. Matthew Amoah is a club legend at NAC Breda from his playing days and represented Ghana at the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups. Andre Ayew, the current Black Stars captain with over 110 international appearances, is now drawing on that experience as he begins his own career in the Netherlands.

Ayew has made two appearances for Breda since his arrival and will be looking to make a greater impact when his team faces a formidable challenge against league leaders PSV Eindhoven on Saturday, January 24.
