Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren joins Black Stars technical team as assistant coach
· GhanaSoccernetKim Lars Bjorkegren has been appointed the assistant coach of the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
The Black Queens coach will be joined by Alan Ravara as the new supporting coaches of the national team following an announcement by the Ghana Football Association.
The move is expected to strengthen the national team technical department for the tournament to be held in June and July.
Bjorkegren has been in Ghana since 2025 after he replaced Nora Hauptle as Black Queens trainer, leading the women's team to bronze at WAFCON 2024. He also qualified the team for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations 2026.
His appointment means he will play both roles, while Desmond Offei and John Paintsil leave their duties with the Black Stars.
Also joining the technical team of the Black Stars are José Daniel MartÃnez Alfonso, who will be the scout and video analyst. Carlos Lozano Romero will be Team Physiotherapist with Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi returning as Performance Coach.
The Black Stars begin their World Cup with a game against Panama in Toronto before facing England and Croatia in USA.
