It's difficult to compare Japan and South Korea – Otto Addo
· GhanaSoccernetBlack Stars coach Otto Addo says assessing Ghana’s performances against Japan and South Korea is challenging, stressing that tactical adjustments and contrasting opposition styles make direct comparison unreliable.
He maintained that the team created more openings in Seoul than in last week’s 2-0 defeat in Nagoya, but noted that each match demanded different solutions.
Addo pointed to the structural changes made for the 1-0 loss to South Korea on Tuesday, explaining that the team operated under a different system.
“It's difficult to compare because, first of all, we played a different system, but I think we had more chances today than against Japan,” he said.
“Japan, to be honest, they were very, very good and if you see also the last game for a nation to beat Brazil, you have to be very, very good.”
South Korea tightened their grip after the interval and converted their territorial advantage when Lee Tae-Seok scored from a Lee Kang-In cross in the 63rd minute.
Ghana held on when South Korea won a penalty, with Benjamin Asare saving Hwang Hee-Chan’s effort to keep the contest alive.
The Black Stars later had goals from Kwabena Adu and Jonas Adjei Adjetey ruled out for offside.
