WAFCON 2024: We know their strength and weakness – Ghana coach ahead of Mali clash
· GhanaSoccernetBlack Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren says his team is fully prepared for their must-win clash against Mali at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, insisting they know exactly what to expect from their West African opponents.
Ghana will face Mali on Friday, July 11 at 16:00 GMT in a crucial Group C encounter. The Queens must secure all three points to stay in contention for a place in the next round after losing 2-0 to South Africa in their opening match.
Mali, on the other hand, will qualify with a win, having already beaten Tanzania 1-0.
Speaking ahead of the match, Björkegren described the game as a tough one but believes his team has done their homework.
“We are playing against a good team. They have especially a couple of good attacking players so it’s going to be a difficult one, a little bit tricky I will say,” he told CAF.
“We have spent many hours watching the opponents so we know their strengths and weaknesses. The most important thing is that we attack this game in our way.”
Ghana will be hoping for better fortune in front of goal after hitting the woodwork twice against South Africa.
