Albert Amoah is gone; it’s time for others to prove themselves - Kotoko coach Karim Zito
· GhanaSoccernetAsante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has stressed that there is no need for his side to cry over the transfer of talisman Albert Amoah.
The striker sealed a move to Libyan giants Al Ahly Benghazi last week in a big-money move from the Kumasi-based club.
As a leading attacker for the team, Amoah’s absence is expected to affect Asante Kotoko in the ongoing 2025/26 football season.
Speaking ahead of his team’s upcoming Ghana Premier League fixture against Karela United, Karim Zito argued that Asante Kotoko cannot grieve over losing the striker.
He said it is important that other attackers in the team step up to fill the void left by Albert Amoah.
“It’s all about attitude. Definitely, he is gone. There is no need to continue crying. We won’t get him back, so we are preparing the other players to take over. It’s up to the players to also prove that they deserve to be there. We must continue with what we have to get what we want,” Zito told AKSC Media.
Kotoko’s next Ghana Premier League fixture against Karela United is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 2.
