Black Stars winger Ernest Nuamah has revealed the struggles he endured during his long injury layoff, expressing gratitude to Ghanaians for their prayers and support as he prepares for his first FIFA World Cup.

Speaking from camp in Cardiff ahead of Ghana's friendly against Wales, the 22-year-old admitted that the road back to full fitness has been difficult.

"It hasn't been easy for me getting an injury. I've worked really hard to get to this point, and I can't wait to give my all," Nuamah said.

The winger, who has been sidelined for a year, thanked the Ghanaian public for standing by him throughout his recovery. "To Ghanaian fans, I just want to say thank you to everyone for your support and your prayers. It's all your prayers that I'm here today."

Nuamah also stressed the importance of adapting to head coach Carlos Queiroz's system and praised the dedication of his teammates as Ghana finalise preparations for the World Cup.

"The challenge ahead is not going to be easy, but with hard work and dedication, we are going to achieve something. With all your prayers, we can do something this time," he added.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. The Black Stars open their campaign against Panama on June 17. For Nuamah, the journey back has been long, but he is ready to make his mark.
