Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi believes the Black Stars' biggest strength ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is the unity and togetherness within the squad.

With Ghana preparing to face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L, the experienced shot-stopper said the players are committed to fighting for one another rather than relying on individual talent.

"The strength is fighting for each other and being there as a team. Playing as a team and not just as individuals," Ati-Zigi told GFA Media.

"The strength is you can see everyone is fighting for each other. We support each other, and we help each other by encouraging the young ones to keep going and to always give their best."

Ati-Zigi acknowledged that the Black Stars have experienced difficult moments in recent years but believes the squad is fully focused on making the most of the opportunity at this year's tournament.

"These are moments that happen in football where you have bad moments, and sometimes you don't qualify. For us, the biggest moment is now."

The 29-year-old is expected to challenge for the starting goalkeeper's role after impressing in Ghana's pre-World Cup friendly against Wales.

Ghana open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto before taking on England on June 23 in Boston.

The Black Stars will complete their Group L fixtures against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
