Henry Cavill and Kevin Hart Team Up for Netflix Spy Action-Comedy Directed by McG

Netflix is putting together an unexpected and entertaining pairing as Henry Cavilland Kevin Hartare set to star together in a new untitled spy action-comedy from director McG.

According to Deadline, the project is based on a short story by Sean Lewis and centers on two rival spies whose lives become intertwined in the most unusual way.

The story follows the agents as they cross paths during a Lamaze class, where they discover that their wives have become close friends. What starts as an awkward coincidence quickly turns into something much bigger as their secret lives crash together, leading to a mix of dangerous missions, comedic chaos, and an unlikely partnership.

As the story unfolds, the two spies are forced to put aside their rivalry and work together while navigating the challenges of impending fatherhood. The setup sounds like a fun blend of action, comedy, and family life, with Cavill and Hart bringing very different energies to the screen.

Cavill will reportedly play one of the spies, although details regarding his specific character are being kept under wraps for now.

The screenplay comes from Adam Nee, Aaron Nee, and Jonathan Tropper. The film is also backed by an impressive producing team that includes Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Ryan Reynolds.

The project continues a busy run for Cavill, who has been taking on a wide variety of action-heavy roles in recent years. Audiences recently saw him in Deadpool & Wolverine and Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. He can currently be seen alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Ritchie's action thriller In the Grey.

Looking ahead, Cavill is set to return to Netflix with Enola Holmes 3, which arrives on July 1. Beyond that, he has two major projects lined up at Amazon MGM, including Chad Stahelski's highly anticipated Highlander reboot and Rawson Marshall Thurber's live-action Voltron film.

Pairing Cavill with Hart's comedic timing seems like it could be a lot of fun, especially with a story that throws rival spies into parenting classes before sending them into dangerous situations together.

It's an unusual concept, but that's exactly what makes it interesting. I’m curious to see how this one come together.
