I'm A Celebrity sees major change moments in as fans slam 'missing' element

I'm A Celebrity fans picked up on a significant modification to the show's format as soon as this year's stars made their debut.

Participants like Danny Jones, Coleen Rooney, and Tulisa have joined the 2024 instalment of the renowned show. This cohort faced a daunting initiation involving a sky dive, boat ride, car journey, or hike to reach their new home in camp, where they promptly donned the classic uniform.

Traditionally, celebrities slip into blue T-shirts, red trousers, and beige shirts, but keen-eyed viewers noticed something different about the attire this time round. Typically, the shirts would display the celebrity's name plus a unique number on the reverse - the number being an identifier for audiences voting to keep their favourite contestants in the game or to select who faces the notorious Trials.

However, this series has seen the numbers absent from the outfits. Instead, the contenders' shirts only bear their full names, prompting reactions from fans: "Oh they've gotten rid of the numbers on the clothes #ImACeleb."

Another added: "Hate that they have their full name on the back of their shirts and no number to call it looks stupid #imaceleb," as a third added: "So 2024 is the year they've finally got rid of phone voting... who's gonna shout call the SHORT NUMBER now."

A fourth wrote: "Watching #ImACeleb and I've noticed they've ditched the phone voting (all via the app), like they did for DOI and BGT earlier this year. 'If you're calling from a mobile, call the SHORT NUMBER' is no more, I guess.."

There were no numbers on the back of the t-shirts

The beloved series I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! has kicked off another thrilling season as a fresh batch of celebrities brace themselves for the harsh trials ahead. Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are back to lead the proceedings for the show set in the Aussie wilderness.

Faced with everything from demanding Bushtucker Trials to Kiosk Kev's cunning conundrums, contestants compete to take the jungle throne from last years champion Sam Thompson.

The initial group of campmates was revealed prior to the show's commencement, boasting names like Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, and Oti Mabuse. But sticking to tradition, viewers can expect some unexpected latecomers to the camp. Love Island's Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles are rumoured to be the surprise additions joining the cast midway through the series.
