War: ‘We’ll take military actions’ – Saudi Arabia warns Iran
by John Owen Nwachukwu · Daily PostSaudi Arabia has again warned Iran to put an end to missile and drone attacks on its territory.
It warned that its patience is running out, adding that it reserves ‘right to take military actions’ over Iran’s continued attacks.
Saudi did not rule out military action in response to repeated missile and drone attacks from Iran.
The country’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, told reporters after a meeting in Riyadh on Thursday that Iran “tries to pressure its neighbours” with attacks.
He said, “The kingdom is not going to succumb to pressure, and on the contrary, this pressure will backfire.. and certainly, as we have stated quite clearly, we have reserved the right to take military actions if deemed necessary.”
Recall that just yesterday, Iran issued threats to strike energy infrastructure throughout the Gulf region.
This was in response to Israeli attacks on its largest gas field, marking the first direct assaults on its fossil fuel production since the onset of the conflict.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have warned of counter-strikes targeting various energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar “in the coming hours,” following reports from state media indicating that missiles had struck its gas facilities at the expansive South Pars field, which holds the largest gas reserves globally.
The assaults on Iran’s South Pars gas field, which it shares with Qatar, were widely reported in Israeli media as having been carried out by Israel with the approval of the United States.
