Southern Kaduna people hail Gen Musa’s nomination as Minister of Defence

SOKAPU described the development as a renewed signal of confidence in the nation’s security future.
News of the nomination of the former Chief of Defence Staff broke on Tuesday and triggered widespread reactions across the country, with many stakeholders welcoming the choice.
The nomination was widely described as a reinforcement of hope that Nigeria remains committed to defeating terrorism and confronting insecurity with competent leadership to curb such activities in the country.
In a statement issued in Kaduna, the President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples United Association, Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato, explained that General Musa’s emergence represents one of the most reassuring decisions taken by the Tinubu administration in recent months.
He stated that the retired general’s record of service, discipline, and strategic competence places him in a strong position to reposition the Defence Ministry.
Kato appealed to the Senate to give the nomination accelerated consideration, saying that the country requires decisive leadership in its defence sector. He added that General Musa’s track record, combined with the President’s determination to deliver quality governance, makes the nomination a positive milestone for national stability.
Kato expressed gratitude on behalf of the Southern Kaduna people, describing the appointment as another indication that the region remains recognised and valued in national affairs. He also assured the community’s support for President Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, emphasizing that Southern Kaduna remains committed to the success of their administrations.
He called for unity and collective responsibility in safeguarding the nation, praying for continued peace and progress in Nigeria and Kaduna State.
