WAFCON 2026: Cameroon defeat Morocco, set up final against Malawi
by Ifreke Inyang · Daily PostThe final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, will be contested between Cameroon and Malawi.
This follows the completion of the semi-final fixtures on Wednesday night.
In the first tie, Malawi beat Algeria 3-1 to reach the final in their debut outing at the tournament.
Tabitha Chawinga scored a brace and her sister, Temwa also got on the scoresheet to ensure the Scorchers’ fairytale run continues.
The clash between Cameroon and Morocco ended goalless after 120 minutes of action.
The ensuing penalty shoot-out saw the Indomitable Lionesses win 3-1 and progress into the final which will be played this Sunday in Rabat.
