2026 Ballon d’Or: Ronaldo, Raphinha – 8 top players missing from nominees’ shortlist

At least eight top footballers are missing from the 30-man nominee shortlist for the 2026 Ballon d’Or released on Tuesday.

They are Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr, Portugal), Pedri (Barcelona, Spain), Raphinha (Barcelona, Brazil), Desire Doue (PSG, France), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal, England) and Bradley Barcola (PSG, France).

Others are: David Raya (Arsenal, Spain) and Cole Palmer (Chelsea, England).

Ronaldo’s eternal rival, Lionel Messi, makes the cut after impressing at his last World Cup this summer.
