AFCON 2027Q: Ethiopian officials to handle Guinea-Bissau vs Super Eagles

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has selected a team of Ethiopian match officials for Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria.

The Group L encounter is billed for the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau, with proceedings set to begin at 4pm local time (5pm Nigerian time).

Tewodros Mitiku will take charge of the crucial encounter as the centre referee.

He will be assisted by Fasika Biru Fasika and Tigle Belachew, who have been designated as the first and second assistant referees respectively.

Manuhe Woldetsadik completes the Ethiopian officiating team as the fourth official.

CAF has also appointed Senegalese official Yaya Balde as the match commissioner, while former Gambian FIFA referee Papa Bakary Gassama will serve as the referee assessor.

Both teams go into the fixture with three points from their opening matches.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles edged Madagascar 2-1 in their first qualifying game, while Guinea-Bissau recorded a 2-0 victory over Tanzania.
