NPFL: Lobi Stars unveil Lönnström as head coach

Lobi Stars have unveiled Finnish born tactician, Mika Lonnstrom, as their new head coach.

The Pride of Makurdi announced Lonnstrom arrival in a brief ceremony at the indoor hall of the McCarthy Stadium on Tuesday.

Lonnstrom will work alongside technical adviser, Daniel Amokachi.

Lobi Stars chairman, Philip Nongu, expressed high hope on the appointment of the new tactician.

“We’re delighted to have Coach Lönnström on board. His expertise and passion will undoubtedly elevate our team’s performance,” Nongu stated during the unveiling ceremony.

“We are here at this important event to introduce to the Benue community, the players, as well as sports journalists, the newly appointed head coach, Mr Lönnström who will be working together with the other technical crew members with the needed intent of moving the club out of current position as well as making it more competitive.”

DAILY POST reports that Lönnström was in charge of Lobi Stars training session in preparation for their next game against Abia Warriors.
