2027 election: Makinde, Sowore inconsequential – Tinubu’s aide, Bwala

by · Daily Post

Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, has described Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and the African Action Congress, AAC, presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, as inconsequential ahead of the 2027 elections.

Bwala, however, noted that Sowore is more popular and liked than Makinde in Nigeria.

In an interview with Symponi TV, the presidential aide explained that the odds do not favour Makinde, stressing that the governor can’t win the presidential election in his state.

He said: “Makinde is inconsequential in any calculations, if you look at the metrix, data, and numbers, which equation brings him close?

“Makinde may not even win the presidential election in his state not to talk of anywhere else. Makinde has not gone to any part of Nigeria, he has not nominated the vice presidential candidate.

“Makinde never had a strong political history where he interacted with the rest of Nigerians, Makinde has been confined only to Oyo State, he’s not even known that much in Lagos not to talk of Southwest Nigeria.

“If you want to be president of the country, it’s important that you are relevant around the country, you have partnerships, and collaboration. This is what we use as anybody can wake from his bed and want to be president.

“Sowore wants to be president, he is more pronounced, more known in Nigeria than Makinde.

“There is no part of Nigeria you will go to that people will not say that they like Sowore, but even in this election, he is inconsequential.”
