World Cup 2026: He’s not human – Thierry Henry reacts as Messi breaks down in tears

by · Daily Post

Former France striker, Thierry Henry, has insisted that Argentina captain Lionel Messi is not human.

Henry spoke on Fox Sports after Messi broke down in tears following Argentina’s World Cup Round of 16 win against Egypt on Tuesday.

The Arsenal legend also said that the Inter Miami forward is unstoppable, adding that when his teammates need him, he raises his game.

“First and foremost, look at him crying. It shows you how much it means for him and his team,” Henry said.

“First and foremost, he reminds us that he is human because he missed some penalties. 4 out of 8. And then he reminds us again that he is not human. I played with him.

“And what happens to Leo is that sometimes you don’t wake up the beast, and that is what happens. I have seen it in training closely. He is unstoppable and very difficult to stop. When his team needs him, he raises his game.”

Three goals from Messi, Cristian Romero, and Enzo Fernandez gave Argentina a 3-2 win against Egypt.
