AFCON: Why my Tunisian wife married me – Ex-Super Eagles forward Daniel Amokachi

Former Super Eagles forward Daniel Amokachi has revealed why his Tunisian wife married him.

Amokachi spoke ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON group stage fixture with Tunisia on Saturday night.

The former Everton and Club Brugge player met his wife at the 1994 AFCON, which was hosted by Tunisia and won by Nigeria.

“Yes, my wife has a Tunisian passport, but I know she and my little girl will be cheering the green-white-green,” Amokachi told SuperSport.

“They like Nigeria, that is why she married me.”

Amokachi has previously coached the Super Eagles of Nigeria, serving as assistant coach and later as interim coach.
