I’ll always remember Pope Francis for one thing – US VP JD Vance

by · Daily Post

United States Vice President JD Vance has reacted to the death of Pope Francis.

In a post on his X account, Vance said he will always remember the Catholic Pontiff for the “homily he gave in the very early days of COVID-19”.

“I just learned of the passing of Pope Francis. My heart goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him,” Vance wrote on Monday morning.

“I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill. But I’ll always remember him for the below homily he gave in the very early days of COVID. It was really quite beautiful.

“May God rest his soul.”

DAILY POST recalls that the Vatican announced Francis’ passing on Monday morning.

Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, disclosed that the 88-year-old died at 7.35 am in his residence on Easter Monday.

A day before his death, Vance and his wife, Usha, met with Pope Francis on Easter Sunday.

In a terse statement through his X account Friday, Vance said he’s grateful for meeting the Pope.
