EPL: Why Chelsea drew 2-2 with Hull City – Xabi Alonso
by Ifreke Inyang · Daily PostChelsea manager, Xabi Alonso, has claimed that the intensity of his players dropped during their 2-2 draw with Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.
For the second consecutive game, the Blues took the lead and then found themselves behind.
Morgan Rogers fired in the opener, before Mohamed Belloumi’s double turned the game on its head.
Chelsea needed Joao Pedro’s goal to ensure they shared the points.

“We’re disappointed with the result. We wanted to win,” Alonso told BBC Sport.
“We have to be disappointed with some parts of the performance, especially when we had the lead. We were too soft for the equaliser. We can do much better.
“Playing well for 15 to 20 minutes is not enough. You have to be on your top for 90 minutes. There are times we’re not able to keep that momentum and intensity. We could have done more for sure because we had chances.”
