World Cup: Chicharito, Clarence Seedorf reveal conversation with Salah after Argentina beat Egypt
by Don Silas · Daily PostFormer Manchester United striker, Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez, and former Real Madrid midfielder Clarence Seedorf have revealed their conversation with Egypt captain Mohamed Salah after the Pharaohs’ World Cup Round of 16 defeat to Argentina.
Recall that Argentina defeated Egypt 3-2 on Tuesday to qualify for the quarter-final of the World Cup.
Following the final whistle at Atlanta Stadium, Salah was seen having a brief discussion with both Chicharito and Seedorf as he hugged them while he was walking away from the pitch.
However, when asked what their discussion with Salah was about, Chicharito told Fox Sports, “I think he said Hi, thank you, and we said he did an amazing World Cup run and also about his career, and I wish him luck in the next chapter of his career.”
On his part, Seedorf concurred with Chicharito’s comments and said, “Yes. I said how proud I am of how he conducts himself. He is a gentleman and amazing. Salah really deserves all the credit.”
Salah scored one goal in the 2026 FIFA World Cup during Egypt’s 3-1 win against New Zealand at the group stage.
