Dollar to Naira exchange rate today, September 17, 2026: Naira records three straight depreciations against USD

The naira depreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market for the third consecutive time.

Central Bank of Nigeria data showed that the naira further weakened to N1,331.28 against the dollar on Thursday from N1,329.86 traded on Wednesday.

This means that, on a day-to-day basis, the naira dropped by N1.42 against the dollar at the official FX market.

Similarly, at the black market, the naira depreciated by N2 to N1,392 per dollar on Thursday from N1,390 traded on Wednesday.

This development comes as the country’s foreign reserves stood at $54.67 billion as of September 16, 2026.

Recall that, in the past two days, the naira had ended on a bearish note against the USD at the official foreign exchange market.
