UCL: What Enrique told Kompany after PSG’s 5-4 win over Bayern
by John Owen Nwachukwu · Daily PostParis Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique and his counterpart from Bayern Munich exchanged pleasantries after their highly entertaining game in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
PSG ended on the winning side, beating Bayern Munich 5-4 in the first leg of the semi-final on Tuesday night.
Bayern opened the scoring at the Parc des Princes, with Harry Kane converting from the penalty spot.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it 1-1, before Joao Neves headed PSG into the lead.
Michael Olise thought he had levelled ahead of the interval, but PSG got another chance from the spot kick which was converted by Ousmane Dembele.
After the break, PSG scored twice through Kvaratskhelia and Dembele, before Bayern fought back with Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz.
Kompany watch the game from the stands following his one match ban by UEFA and he came down to address the post-match briefing.
Enrique asked him, “you watched the match from the stands, did you like it?”
Kompany replied “No.”
The former Manchester City captain added later, “It wasn’t the position I’d have liked to watch the game from. I told Luis Enrique I don’t understand how he likes to watch games from the stands!
“It was a game for people who love football”.
Both sides will play the return leg at the Allianz Arena next Wednesday.
