War: Trump agrees two-week ceasefire with Iran
by Ifreke Inyang · Daily PostUS president, Donald Trump, has announced he will pause planned attacks on Iran for two weeks.
Trump has taken this decision following talks with Pakistan’s leadership.
However, it comes with the condition that Iran immediately opens the Strait of Hormuz.
“I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks,” the US president wrote on social media.
“This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE!”
According to Trump, American Military goals have already been achieved and negotiations toward a long-term peace deal are close to completion.
A 10-point proposal from Iran is seen as a workable foundation, with most key issues already agreed.
The two-week pause is intended to finalize the agreement and move toward broader peace in the Middle East.
