EPL: Graham Potter set to take over Chelsea’s London rivals as Lopetegui is sacked
by Ifreke Inyang · Daily PostFormer Chelsea and Brighton manager, Graham Potter, is set to be announced as the new head coach of West Ham.
The Hammers have already sacked Julen Lopetegui as their boss on Thursday.
This was confirmed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on X.
Romano wrote: “BREAKING: Julen Lopetegui has been sacked by West Ham, confirmed.
“Graham Potter set to become the new head coach with contracts being checked.”
The 49-year-old has been out of work since he was sacked at Stamford Bridge back in 2023.
He was also attracting attention from another Premier League side, Everton, who are pondering a managerial change.
But Potter will now return to London to try and save West Ham’s floundering season.
Lopetegui leaves the club in 14th place with 23 points, seven points off the relegation places.
