2027: Jonathan meets Tinubu in Aso Villa
by Ochogwu Sunday · Daily PostFormer Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Sunday, reportedly met with President Bola Tinubu behind closed-door in Aso Rock Villa.
According to The Nation, the meeting appeared to have been private, as no statement was issued afterwards.
The former president has been mum amid speculation on his purported political comeback to join the 2027 presidential race.
DAILY POST recalls that the Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP said on May 30 that Jonathan’s name and credentials were submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as its candidate.
However, Jonathan’s name was conspicuously missing from the list of 19 presidential candidates released on Saturday by the electoral umpire.
Although the details of the meeting with Tinubu cannot be ascertained at the moment, it may not be unconnected to the coming elections.
