El-Rufai’s influence made Tinubu Nigeria’s president – Dele Momodu

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dele Momodu, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu might not be president if not for former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Momodu said El-Rufai’s political influence was pivotal in Tinubu’s emergence as Nigeria’s president in 2023.

The Deputy Director-General of the ADC’s Presidential Campaign Media and Communications Directorate, disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television’s Morning Brief on Friday.

Momodu also decried the bail condition given to the former governor, describing it has horrendous.

He said: “El-Rufai is held down not because he has committed any crime. He could have stayed away from the country. He chose to come back to the country. He knew he was going to be arrested, and he was arrested.

“The bail conditions given to him are so horrendous that even his enemies would wonder why he has to go through such a painful experience at the hands of a government that he helped to midwife.

“If not for him, I’m sure President Bola Tinubu would not be in office today.”
