Reps to vote on state police bill Thursday – Deputy Speaker Kalu

Speaking at a media briefing on Wednesday, Kalu said lawmakers are preparing to vote on key constitutional amendment bills, including provisions for decentralized policing.
He said the House has decided to prioritise the establishment of state police ahead of other bills.
According to him, the House has directed all members currently outside Abuja on oversight functions to suspend their activities and return to the parliament on Thursday for the voting procedure.
Recall that the state police bill is sponsored by the Deputy Speaker and 14 other members of the House.
