2027: You can’t threaten Tinubu – Kwara political leaders challenge G15
by John Owen Nwachukwu · Daily PostSome political leaders in Kwara State have warned those they described as political nomads and Abuja politicians to stop raising political tension in the state.
In a joint statement by Hon. Raji Atolagbe Muhammad, Alhaji Rahim Alamoyo and Alhaji Issa Amosa Afon, the Kwara political leaders accused the G15 group of attempting to mislead the people of state using the Otoge movement .
The Otege movement came to bring in 2019 after it was used to remove the likes of former Senate president, Bukola Saraki from power..
In a joint statement released on Thursday, the founding leaders of Otoge expressed their concerns regarding what they termed as attempts by the G15 to appropriate the Otoge movement while engaging in actions that contradict its foundational principles.
They found it remarkable that a group which had publicly challenged the decisions of the APC leadership, criticized the results of the party’s primaries, and openly suggested the possibility of departing from the party, now seeks to position itself as the guardian of the Otoge legacy.
The leaders also criticized the group’s petition to President Bola Tinubu, alleging that it warned that the APC’s electoral prospects in Kwara, including the President’s re-election chances, could be compromised if its grievances were not addressed.
They characterized the alleged warning as political blackmail, asserting that such behavior is inconsistent with the loyalty, sacrifice, and collective responsibility that define the Otoge movement.
“You cannot threaten President Tinubu with electoral repercussions today for your own interests and expect Nigerians to believe you are defending the movement that introduced progressive politics to Kwara,” the statement said.
They further claimed that many individuals currently at the forefront of the G15 had previously lauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and recognized the developmental successes of his administration until their personal political aspirations were unmet.
“This movement is not intended for political opportunists or Abuja politicians who only emerge when it aligns with their interests,” the leaders stated, emphasizing that Otoge was established by ordinary Kwarans through years of dedication, sacrifice, and grassroots mobilization.
Other leaders who kicked against the G15 are included Alhaji Abdullateef Gidado Alakawa, Prof. Abdulraheem Sheu Adaramaja, Alhaji Mustapha Kobe, Alhaji Ibrahim Mogaji, Alhaji Baba Alapa, Alhaji Rasaq Jiddah, Alhaji Abdulganiu Cook Olododo, Alhaji Illiasu Abdulrahman, Alhaji Saadu Salau, Alhaji Abdullah Ahmed Sabi, Alhaji Ali Aliyu Mohamed, Alhaji Saadu Laaro, Elder Abodunrin Kolade Julius, Mohammed Abdullahi Ndako, Baba Santali, Mohamed Abdulrahman Wali, Hon.
